W. Studies in Tanzania
Eliesa studied for a year in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She came to understand the
challenges of higher education in a developing country, and enjoyed the opportunity
to travel and experience other countries in Africa.
Eric H . Studies Entrepreneurial Management in Tanzania
Eric studied at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania for a year on the IRSEP scholarship exchange program.
The experience gave him new insights into understanding the Tanzanian approach to economic development.
Nicole
O. Studies Spanish and Global Studies in Argentina
Nicole participated in two different programs to Argentina; first she traveled
to La Plata, where she interned as an English teacher, and later she studied in
Buenos Aires along with Argentine students.
Carrie
G. Studies and Interns in South America
First with the MSID program in Ecuador, then on an internship with the State Department
in Peru, and finally spending a year in studying in Santiago, Chile, Carrie has
traveled extensively in South America. She is now pursuing a career as a U.S.
Foreign Service officer, hoping to become an ambassador someday!

P. Studies Spanish in Mexico
Andrea completed the language requirements for her global studies major, and continued
to learn about the cultures of Latin America, which is her area focus.

Development in India
Sara chose the MSID program in Jaipur, where she had the opportunity to intern with an organization that serves widows and single women.

M. Studies in Malaysia
Ted did a scholarship exchange to the University of Sains Malaysia in Penang.
He enjoyed the challenge of learning a new language, got involved in social issues,
and ended up with a summer internship in Thailand.
Chelsea
A. Studies in New Zealand
Chelsea is working toward a double major in sociology and global studies, with
a minor in leadership. All three areas of study were affected by her experience
with the Butler program in Auckland.
Maiyia
Y. Studies in South Korea
Maiyia is working toward a BIS degree in linguistics, global studies, and cultural
studies. She spent a semester in Daegu, South Korea, where she explored culture
through course work and interactions with South Korean students.

Tiffanie is a global studies and German major who spent a year in Freiburg, Germany.
She lived with German roommates and studied with German and other international
students.
Lacy
S. Studies in Ireland
Lacy spent the summer in Dublin, Ireland, studying political science, culture,
history, and language. She enjoyed the experience so much that she decided to
go abroad again!
