The prupose of these scholarships is to encourage study abroad at the University of Minnesota by awarding scholarships to a large number of students. Funding comes from Central Administration and from private sources.

University of Minnesota—Twin Cities Diversity Scholarship

UMTC Diversity Scholarship: A scholarship focused on students of color and international students that uses the same application but requires an additional essay.

University of Minnesota—Access Abroad Scholarship

UMTC Access Abroad Scholarship: Scholarships available to students with a disability registered with Disability Services who agree to help create profiles of their experiences in order to assist future students. This scholarship uses the same application but requires an additional essay.

University of Minnesota—Twin Cities Privately Funded Scholarship

UMTC Privately Funded Scholarships: Students meeting the criteria for privately funded scholarships are considered for those awards in addition to the Twin Cities Study Abroad Scholarships.

University of Minnesota—Duluth, Morris, & Crookston Students

Students from any of the four University of Minnesota campuses completing the University-Wide Study Abroad Scholarship application form on this web site should submit the application to their home campus study abroad office only and it must be received in the office by US Mail, Campus Mail, or in person no later than 4:00 pm on the application deadline date. Be sure to check your campus' application deadlines! Incomplete and/or late applications are not reviewed.
