Program Dates

Dates vary depending on program term and year. Access your program's main information page through CIEE's web site. If you have questions, contact the appropriate CIEE Program Coordinator.

Orientation Dates & Locations

Orientation will be conducted in two parts: an online orientation, which is mandatory for all students, and an in-person, program-specific session. You will receive more information about the online orientation via email. Failure to complete the online orientation will impact your ability to go abroad.

Please see below for tentative dates and times for your in-person session. You will be notified of the official date and time via email. Students living outside the Twin Cities who are unable to attend this session will receive orientation information via email approximately one week after the in-person session is held.

Estimated Cost

Students participating on co-sponsored programs are charged a program fee which is inclusive of the co-sponsor's program fee, University of Minnesota educational costs, and international health insurance. University of Minnesota educational costs cover application processing, advising servies, orientation, course registration, grade transfer and posting for resident credit as well as assistance with financial aid when applicable. Based on these additional services and benefits, the overall program fee will be higher than the co-sponsor's published program fee.

University of Minnesota Educational Costs will range from $500 to $1,500 and vary by program. The co-sponsored program's portion of the program fee can be used to assist in estimating cost and is available at the program site linked below. In most cases, airfare, field trips, meals, and personal expenses are additional. An adviser in the Learning Abroad Center can help you find complete cost information. To locate detailed estimates of CIEE's program fees and additional expenses,

• Navigate to the CIEE International Study Programs main page.
• Find your country or program using the "jump to a program" search engine on the left navigation bar (remember to click on "find" after making your selection).
• If you searched by country, select the site and program track from the list of results, noting that summer programs are listed separately.
• From the program page, scroll all the way down to the "CIEE Fees" section, and click on the term (highlighted in blue) that you wish to attend.

Financial Aid & Scholarships
Most financial aid may be applied to study abroad. In addition, University of Minnesota students are eligible for more than $500,000 in study abroad scholarships. Visit the financial resources web page for additional information on using financial aid and scholarships for study abroad.

Students on this program may also apply for CIEE's scholarships. A limited number of fee reductions are available for select CIEE sites.
