About the Program
International Reciprocal Student Exchange Program (IRSEP) offers a full scholarship to study abroad in six different countries. It is the oldest continuous exchange program at the University of Minnesota and primarily offers opportunities to study at non-traditional destinations around the world. Founded by students in 1952, it is still characterized by active student participation exemplified by a three year commitment. IRSEP Scholarship Exchanges provide the opportunity to spend an academic year studying in China, Ecuador, Germany, Iceland, Malaysia, and Tanzania.
Note: For the 2009-10 year the Tanzania scholarship will not be for a full year exchange but rather applied to a Learning Abroad Center partner program in Tanzania.
2009–10 Tanzania Scholarship DetailsThe IRSEP-Tanzania scholarship for 2009–10 will be a $2,500 scholarship which can be applied to one of the Learning Abroad Center partner programs in Tanzania. The scholarship award will be contingent upon acceptance and participation in an approved program between September 2009 and August 2010.
