Note: If you plan to use financial aid (loans, grants, scholarships)
to cover costs for your study abroad experience, you are encouraged to schedule
a financial aid preview meeting
prior to submitting your confirmation deposit.

of Attorney paperwork (optional but strongly recommended)
Passport & Visa: All students must have a valid passport to take part in this program
If you already have a passport, make sure that it is valid for the duration
of the program, as well as up to six months after your return
If you do not have a passport, apply for one as soon as
possible; go to Travel Documents for more information
You will receive more detailed visa information later in the process
Deposit and Program Fees You do not pay the sponsor's deposit. All sponsors have agreed to accept the Learning Abroad Center deposit as confirmation of participation for University of Minnesota students. However, if you decide to cancel after you pay the non-refundable Learning Abroad Center deposit, you are additionally responsible for paying your sponsor’s deposit. Consult the Learning Abroad Center’s Cancellation Policy for more details on your financial obligations.
