About the Program

Experience South African culture firsthand while learning alongside African students. Study in an urban setting at the University of KwaZulu-Natal or Howard College.

The University of KwaZulu-Natal is situated in the province of KwaZulu-Natal and consists of two centers: one in the coastal city of Durban, and one in Pietermaritzburg some 45 miles inland. Durban is KwaZulu-Natal’s largest city and offers an intriguing blend of the East, the West and of Africa. Pietermaritzburg is a vibrant city full of stately colonial buildings, avenues lined with huge jacaranda trees, and narrow side streets with bustling shops and restaurants.
