Coursework


Learn about the evolution and ecology of coral inhabitants. Study oceonography, zoology, evolution, and animal behavior in authentic settings. This program provides an opportunity to undertake an independent research project in an intact coral reef. This program includes one week diving one of the most magnificent coral reef communities in the world with a night dive, a dolphin dive and two boat dives daily.

This program is taught by Dr. Sehoya Cotner, Biology Program of the College of Biological Sciences, and Dr. Jim Cotner, Department of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior.

Eligibility and Application
Open to University of Minnesota students.  Proof of dive certification is required.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the program fills.

Estimated Cost
The program fee is approximately $2300 and includes tuition and fees, international airfare, local transportation, dives, housing, some meals and international health insurance.
