Description
Participate in Laval University’s program for
foreigners. The university is the oldest French-speaking institution
of higher learning in North America. The campus is located near
downtown Quebec City, and is accessible by bus, car, or bike. Although
a modern city, it has preserved its traditional character and language.
Curriculum
Enroll in language courses for all levels; advanced levels take
literature and civilization courses. Instruction in French by Laval
University faculty. Typical credits: 15 for semester, 7-12 for summer session.
Eligibility & Application Open to freshmen and above with 3.0 GPA
and 1 year college-level French. Applications reviewed until early
March deadline for summer session and early April deadline for Fall semester program.

Estimated Cost Students from the University of Minnesota participating
on this program are charged a program fee that is inclusive of the cosponsored
program's fee and a University of Minnesota fee to cover the cost of application
processing, advising services, orientation, course registration, grade transfer
and posting for resident credit, assistance with financial aid, and international
health insurance. This administrative fee ranges from $500 to $1,500 and varies
by program. The cosponsored program's portion of the program fee can be used to
assist in estimating cost and is available at the program site linked below. In
most cases, airfare, field trips, meals, and personal expenses are additional.
