Description
The city of Guanajuato is located in the mountains of central Mexico,
230 miles northwest of Mexico City. Characterized by plazas, narrow
cobbled streets, and colorful buildings and churches, the city is
often described as being one of the most charming in Mexico. Students
take two to three classes in the humanities.
Curriculum
Enroll in language, history, literature courses as well as other
humanities. Instruction in Spanish by Facultad de Filosofía
y Letras at the Universidad de Guanajuatoy. Typical credits: 6–9
for summer session.
Eligibility & Application
Open to freshmen and above with 3.0 GPA
and 5 semesters of college-level Spanish. Applications reviewed
until early March deadline.

Estimated Cost
Students from the University of Minnesota participating
on this program are charged a program fee that is inclusive of the cosponsored
program's fee and a University of Minnesota fee to cover the cost of application
processing, advising services, orientation, course registration, grade transfer
and posting for resident credit, assistance with financial aid, and international
health insurance. This administrative fee ranges from $500 to $1,500 and varies
by program. The cosponsored program's portion of the program fee can be used to
assist in estimating cost and is available at the program site linked below. In
most cases, airfare, field trips, meals, and personal expenses are additional.
