Description
Study Spanish in this picturesque
city, nestled in the mountains of the Sierra de Guanajuato. The
dozens of plazas and plazuelas in the center of Guanajuato give
the city a distinctive European flavor. Excursions include local
museums and an overnight trip to the State of Michoacan where the
Paricutin Volcano is located.
Curriculum
During the two and one-half week study abroad program, learn through
a combination of regular course work and direct immersion in the
culture. The homestay experience helps students gain fluency in
Spanish language and learn about Mexican culture. Typical credits:
4 for May session.
Eligibility & Application
Open to University of Minnesota freshmen
and above with 2.4 GPA and two years of college-level Spanish. Applications
are reviewed until late-March deadline.
With good academic planning this program can fit well into the degree plans for many majors. Search for courses that fulfill Liberal Education Requirements or submit a course you want to take for review. Estimated Cost
Students from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities participating on University of Minnesota Duluth programs are charged a program fee. The fee for this program can be used to assist in estimating cost and is available by contacting the University of Minnesota, Duluth International Education.
