Description


The program is based on "Study, Documentation, and Creation of an Inventory of the World Heritage Buffer Zone" including architectural monuments and urban design from the Capitalist Period (around 1800 to 1920) and Soviet Period (1920-1990) in Baku, Azerbaijan. There is strong academic interaction with students and faculty of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC).

Curriculum


Participate in four sessions of pre-departure studies and workshops at the University of Minnesota followed by four instructional weeks in Azerbaijan. Basic Azeri lessions are included.

Eligibility & Application
College of Design graduate and undergraduate students are eligible (undergraduate students must have enrolled in studio). Applications will be reviewed until mid-March 2008.

Estimated Costs
The program fee includes tuition and registration fees, housing, some excursions, and international health insurance. The program fee does not include most meals. For more cost information contact the faculty leader (below).
