- The Learning Abroad Center emails you to request any missing items if your application is incomplete.
- Once the Learning Abroad Center has reviewed your completed application, we will email you with your status. This email will contain important instructions to follow after you have received your acceptance notice from your university/co-sponsor.
- The university/co-sponsor emails you with a final decision regarding your acceptance into the program. This can take a week to several months.
- If accepted, follow the instructions outlined in the Learning Abroad Center email referred to in Step #3. You need to pay a program deposit to the Learning Abroad Center. (Do not pay a deposit to your university/co-sponsor.)
- Submit additional information and materials if requested by the university/co-sponsor.
- If you choose not to participate in the program, email your Learning Abroad Center program contact and your university/co-sponsor contact.
Program Fees

University of Minnesota educational costs cover application processing, advising servies, orientation, course registration, grade transfer and posting for credit as well as assistance with financial aid when applicable. Based on these additional services and benefits, the overall program fee will be higher than the co-sponsor's published program fee.
