This program appeals to students who are interested in Irish culture, would like to participate in a summer program, or are looking for a study abroad option in an English-speaking nation.
Academic Structure
Program type: The Irish Studies Summer School is a Learning Abroad Center sponsored program. Instruction is in English by Irish faculty.
Level: Various levels.
Term: Summer session.
Prerequisites: 2.5 GPA.
Courseload: 6 credits.
Coursework
This program consists of six modular courses.
Students take a maximum of four modules for a total of 6 credits. All students are required to take the history module and either the literature or drama module.
Students may choose the additional two modules from any of the remained modules. Each course meets for two and a half hours per week over the six-week lecture period.
Students attend classes at Trinity College with other participants on the program. One week of the course will take place at Queen's University in Belfast. This week enables students to deepen their understanding of the conflict in Northern Ireland.
