Confirmation Checklist

Follow this checklist to confirm your place in the program.

Note: If you plan to use financial aid (loans, grants, scholarships) to cover costs for your study abroad experience, you are encouraged to schedule a financial aid preview meeting prior to submitting your confirmation deposit.

	Review the Learning Abroad Center Cancellation Policy before turning in your confirmation materials
	Print & submit materials to the Learning Abroad Center by the date indicated on your acceptance email: Confirmation & Payment Agreement (after completion, a $400 non-refundable deposit is billed to your U of M student finance account) Release & Waiver Health Information Form
	Keep in touch with your British university; you will need to complete and send to your British university housing and other requested forms
	Print & submit materials to the Learning Abroad Center prior to departure: Academic Planning Form (University of Minnesota–Twin Cities undergraduate students only) Copy of notarized Power of Attorney paperwork (optional but strongly recommended)
	Complete the three step orientation: Online Confirmation Orientation and Online University Study Orientation Mandatory online Health & Safety Orientation (emailed at a later time) In-person, Program-Specific Orientation (see the Program Dates & Fees page)
	Passport & Visa: All students must have a valid passport to enter the UK If you already have a passport, make sure that it is valid for the duration of the program, as well as up to six months after your return If you do not have a passport, apply for one as soon as possible; go to Travel Documents for more information You will receive more detailed visa information later in the process
