Description
Birmingham is located in the heart of England
and is Britain's second largest city. It is a mecca for theater,
jazz, classical, and rock music. Shakespeare's home in Stratford
is 20 miles away. Students live with British students in the Manor
House, which is a former mansion of the Cadbury family.
Curriculum
Choose courses from a variety of liberal
education and upper division offerings.
Courses are taught by University of Minnesota, Duluth and British
faculty, and excursions supplement the courses and acquaint
you with British culture and history. Up to two courses can also
be taken with students on the University of Birmingham Selly Oak
campus.
Typical credits: 24–30 for academic year.
Eligibility & Application
Open to University of Minnesota students
with a minimum GPA of 2.4 and at least 24 credits by the end of
the spring semester before departure.
Early application before the mid-January deadline is encouraged because the program often reaches capacity before the deadline.
