About the Program
Dubai is one of seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. Why are we so familiar with Dubai, but not the other six?
Dubai’s neighbors, Sharjah to the east and Abu Dhabi to the west, have each taken very different approaches to development. This course will explore Dubai and compare its rise to these neighboring emirates. Time will be spent in each to explore their historic, cultural, economic and geographic variability.
This Global Seminar will introduce students specifically to Dubai and more generally to the United Arab Emirates and greater Middle East Region.
