About the Program
Examine how history, religion, art, and culture gave birth to a
new way of thinking and looking at the world. As the home to some
of the world's most famous art, architecture, and early scientific
minds, Florence and its surrounding area are ideal sites to study
how math and science helped to create such masterpieces as the Leaning
Tower of Pisa, the Duomo, and the Vatican. Visit here to see images of previous sessions.
Excursions
Excursions include tours of art galleries, the Uffizi, Pitti Palace,
and the Duomo. Outside of Florence, students visit Pisa, Siena and
San Gimignano, and Vinci. There is also a weekend trip to Rome to
visit the Vatican, St. Peter's Cathedral, and the Roman ruins.
Housing & Meals
Students live in shared apartments with other program participants. A
welcome dinner and farewell luncheon are included in the program fee. Additional
meals can be taken in the apartments or at local eateries.
