About the Program
After gaining an understanding of New Zealand's native peoples, history, government and culture, you will learn about the country's natural resources.
Explore New Zealand's current environmental issues, as well as conservation efforts designed to save native habitat and endangered species.
You will visit many cities in New Zealand, including Auckland, Rotorua, Christchurch, and Queenstown.

ExcursionsMost of the course is taught outdoors among geysers, glaciers, forests, and lakes. There are many excursions throughout the North and South Island that may include:
- Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland
- Redwoods Whakarewarewa Forest
- Canterbury Museum
- Franz Josef Glacier
- Auckland Museum
- Arthur’s Pass National Park
- And much more!
Housing & Meals
You will live in backpacker-style housing with other program participants. A welcome dinner and farewell luncheon are included in the program fee.
Additional meals can be taken in the housing or at local eateries.
On-Site Support
On-site support is provided by Australearn.
Students may have access to a computer lab, a classroom space, and a library.
On-site staff provide information to students regarding cultural activities
as well as ensuring 24-hour emergency support.
Access Abroad
Persons with disabilities or special needs are encouraged to explore opportunities abroad. The Learning Abroad Center and Disability Services are collaborating to enhance access to study abroad for students with disabilities. Go to the Access Abroad web page for more information.
