Description.

WorldTeach is a non-profit, non-governmental organization based at the Center for International Development at Harvard University. Volunteer teachers are placed in communities that specifically request WorldTeach's assistance. Some programs are subsidized by the country's government. WorldTeach provides orientation and housing and most year-long placements also have a living stipend.

Volunteer Placements

Placements vary by program. Examples include:

  • Public high school
  • Primary school
  • Community college
  • Women's empowerment academy
  • Teacher's assistants
  • Community education with adult students
  • Math and science teachers
  • Computer training
  • Instrumental music instruction
  • Teaching at orphanages
