Description

Global Volunteers is a non-profit organization that provides short-term volunteer options in micro-economic and human development projects. The organization strives to maintain sustained service partnerships with host communities.

Volunteer Placements

Placements options include:

  • Teaching English
  • Painting, building, and repairing buildings
  • Providing health care
  • Working with children, elderly, or those with disabilities

Global Volunteers International Volunteer Fellowship
University of Minnesota students are eligible to receive up to $300 applicable to your program fees. To apply, contact Scott Daby before applying to Global Volunteers.

Global Volunteers Bonafield Pierce Scholarship
This award is for pre-health science students (undergraduate students majoring in nursing, public health, or disciplines that qualify for premed, pre-dental, etc and graduate students seeking degrees in medicine, dentistry, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition ) participating in a Global Volunteers program of at least two weeks in Ecuador, Peru, India, Tanzania, Ghana, Romania, Cook Islands or Xian (China) related to health care.

The award is for the lesser amount of either 50% of the standard service program fee or $1,200.

Application must be submitted to Global Volunteers by October 15.
