An experience abroad is often the single most important and rewarding activity a student engages in during their academic career. It can also be a lot of hard work and at times the process is by its nature confusing and complex! You can always call or come in to see us.

Office Hours & Location

If you're new to study abroad: 

  1. Create A Profile or Manage Your Checklist Online.

  2. Only University of Minnesota students are required to create a profile.

    Non University of Minnesota students should visit the Next Steps web page for a step-by-step guide on how to go abroad with the UofM

  3. Attend a First Step Meeting

In-person First Step for Study Abroad (also covers credit bearing internships & service-learning), no appointment necessary

Location: 230 Heller Hall, West Bank (map)

Spring Semester Schedule 

Monday: 10:30 a.m.

Tuesday: 2:30 p.m. 

Wednesday: 2:30 p.m.

Thursday: 10:30 a.m.

Friday: 1 p.m.

*Please note that because we cover so much information in a short period of time, if you are late you will have to attend a different in-person First Step meeting or complete the online First Step
